Abnormal weather in Montreal – Global warming ?

According to wikipedia: “Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth’s near-surface air and the oceans since the mid-twentieth century and its projected continuation. Global surface temperature increased 0.74 ± 0.18 °C (1.33 ± 0.32 °F) during the 100 years ending in 2005.”

Montreal is known for its harsh and bizarre weather. Take today for exemple: March 7th 2009, it’s 7c ! Yesterday, temperatures reached 9c.

Looking at statistics on meteomedia.com, at the same date 2 years ago, the weather was -21c. Montreal’s weather is truly unpredictable and warmer days like today are welcomed. But at what price ?

Is this due to global warming? or is it just a random case of warmer climate.
